El Campello Beaches

In El Campello there are beaches for all kinds of taste given that it consists of a 23km costline with several blue flags, such as the beach of El Campello situated at Carrer la Mar or Muchavista Beach which are the best known as are the ones that have Accesible Beach Points.

Here are some of the ones you can visit, although of course they are not the only ones around.

El Campello Beach

It is the beach that is directly connected to the urban center of El Campello. It has approximately 1,5km wher you can enjoy beach volleyball courts, some playgrounds, restaurants and shops that you can enjoy on the beachfront (Carrer la Mar).

Almadraba and Almerador Beach

They have small pebbles but there is sand in the water. They can be reached by the TRAM (Pueblo Español stop and Amerador stop correspondingly) and can be reached also by the walk of the Voramar de les Escultures path.

Muchavista Beach

It is one of the longest sandy beaches and has direct access from the TRAM stops in Alicante city direction. In summer they have interesting cultural proposals: beach library, children’s entertainment, outside cinema, beach bars and chiriguitos…. Check dates and activities on the tourism website of El Campello.

Cala Palmera Creek

A creek located in Cabo de las Huertas at the end of Muchavista Beach. It has no sand, but it has beautiful cliffs of large and smooth stones that will provide shelter for pedestrians’ looks.

Cala Lanuza Creek

This creek is located in Venta Lanuza which is reached by TRAM at the stop with the same name. It is sandy and is a smaller beach, but with a lot of charm

Places of interest

Illeta Tower and the Queen’s Baths

The Illeta Tower and the archaeological site of the Queen’s Baths are BIC’s (Well of cultural interest at spain) since 1991 and emblem of El Campello. They have guided tours programs (+34 965634606, non-free activity, see prices at the office board) and you can also bathe and visit the Qeen’s baths that are in the lower part of the islet for free.

Fish auction at the Port

You will have a fish auction at the fish market in the port around 17:30h. From Monday to Friday (consult the fishermen’s association for the month of biological unemployment at +34 965631193)

Central Park of El Campello

The Central Park of El Campello is located right next to AHOY APARTMENTS and also there is a children’s traffic playground at the end of the park behind the police station. In these places you can enjoy family outings where you can have some “churros” (typical sweets of the area) while the children are playing on the swings or using the 1000m2 traffic playground.

Culture Building: Aula de Cultura El Campello

Located in the upper part of the town, passing the TRAM tracks, it has exhibitions, theaters, etc…. with entertain alone or as a family. They have at the entrance of the building the lists of acts and events. For concerted visits call +34 965696194.

Salesianos

If you want to have a feeling of the county side, but without moving much, you can go to the trees and picnic area of the Salesianos, near the beach as soon as you make the curve after the bridge of the Río Seco. It also has a small bar to enjoy something hot.

Festivities of El Campello

  • Three Kings Cavalcade on January 5
  • Festivities of the Virgen del Carmen on July 16
  • Feast of October 9, Correfocs and dances on the night of the 8th and processions and dances (usually it’s the commemoration of the Moor and Christians)
  • Moors and Christians from October 11 to 15, a festivity in which the ancient battles between Moors and Christians for the city are recreated. It consists of : landing recreation, battle on the beach at dawn, dancing and parades, and parades with the typical costumes of each troupe.

Costa Blanca on TRAM

With the TRAM you can move to the surroundings and most important cities near El Campello such as: Alicante city, Benidorm, Altea… All without the need for a vehicle:

  • If you go to Alicante city you can see: Santa Barbara Castle, several museums such as MACA (Museum of contemporary art of Alicante) or the MARQ (Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante), the Basilica of Santa María, the Cathedral of San Nicolás, the Town Hall and the Explanada path among others as well as going to the neighborhood Old city.
  • In Benidorm you can see several emblematic buildings such as the Hotel Bali, walk along the East and West Promenade (both designed by famous architects in a totally different way) and go to all kinds of amusement parks (AQUALANDIA, TERRA NATURA, TERRA MÍTICA…)
  • Altea, one of the most picturesque villages on the coast, with its all-white old town with narrow streets and sea views. Although to get to this city you will need to change TRAM in Benidorm to L9.

You can also enjoy easy access to the Island of Tabarca, as boats regularly depart in that direction from the port. This island stands out for its great reef and is the favorite place for divers, although it is also a great place to enjoy cauldrons and fresh fish.
